About

Robert Tregoning

Robert is a picture book author with a particular love for writing stories which he hopes will help children and grown-ups alike to accept and celebrate all the things that make us uniquely ourselves. His work has been shortlisted for the Polari Children’s & YA Prize and the Spark School Book Award and in 2024 he was awarded the Indie Book Award in the picture book category for his second book, The Dress in the Window (OUP).

His previous career on the West End stage (starring in the likes of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda the Musical) means he has an affinity for rhythm and lyrics, writing his stories in razzling, dazzling rhyme. The stories Robert writes are often stories he wishes he could have read as a child. He hopes they provide a voice of recognition, validation and kindness to those who need it.

Robert is proudly published by Bloomsbury and Oxford University Press, as well as several international publishers, and represented by Bell Lomax Moreton.
